Randall Referendum Update - As Randall's project progresses please check back for updates.
School safety and security were part of the Capital Plan and the promise to our Randall Community. As part of the referendum and additional District updates we are updating our security framework through VERKADA which provides a comprehensive platform to enhance security in our school. Below is just a sampling of what is being updated and/or added for the fall of 2024!
At Randall School District Verkada supports school safety:
1. Centralized Security Platform: Verkada offers a single platform to monitor, manage, detect, and respond to incidents on campus. It integrates all physical security devices, making it easier to address safety needs.
2. Emergency Response Acceleration: Verkada enables quick responses to threats with custom alerts and tools, including wireless panic buttons. When an alarm is raised, immediate action can be taken or emergency services can be contacted.
3. Visitor Management: The Guest feature simplifies and secures visitor management. It allows screening of visitors, printing photo badges, and viewing visitor footage from a single interface.
4. Student Privacy Protection: Verkada allows monitoring of school premises in a privacy-sensitive way by blurring faces detected in live streams. Faces can be unblurred when incidents occur.
5. Cloud-Based Lockdown: Custom lockdown scenarios can be created to ensure the right response plan. Lockdowns can be triggered from panic buttons, Verkada Command, or the Verkada Pass app while allowing first responders access.
6. Video Security: Verkada’s intelligent, plug-and-play video security system helps improve visibility across schools of any size. It simplifies scaling cameras and enhances security.
7. Access Control: Verkada provides access control solutions to manage entry points, ensuring authorized access and enhancing safety.
8. 24/7 Technical Support: Verkada offers technical support via email, phone, or live chat, ensuring reliable assistance for schools
